“Accessible Travel Promotion” Project

BEM promotes safe and equitable access to public transportation for all passenger groups. Key initiatives include public awareness campaigns encouraging passengers to share seats on trains, particularly the Priority Seats reserved for individuals requiring special assistance such as children, pregnant women, elderly persons, monks, and persons with disabilities. Additionally, guidance is provided to passengers, particularly senior passengers or passengers with heavy luggage or mobility limitations, to use elevators instead of escalators. The Company also promotes the utilization of Swing Gates within stations to facilitate smoother entry and exit for passengers who find automated flap gates inconvenient, such as those carrying large luggage, elderly passengers, wheelchair users, and passengers requiring special assistance. These measures collectively support safe, and fully accessible travel for all passenger groups.
