“Reduce Electricity Consumption within the company” Projects
The Project to replace Lighting with LED Luminaires on the Si Rat Expressway (SES)

In 2025, BEM planned to replace 1,518 High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps with Light-Emitting Diode (LED) luminaires on the Si Rat Expressway (SES). This initiative was projected to save approximately 3.72 million THB in energy costs per year, reduce energy consumption by 953,352 kWh per year, and mitigate GHG emissions by 476.58 tCO2e per year. The equipment installation covering Sector B, C, and D of the Si Rat Expressway reached 100% completion in November 2025. Following completion, the project successfully reduced expenses by approximately 1,796,227 THB, lowered energy consumption by 460,571 kWh, and avoided GHG emissions by 230.24 tCO2e, achieving 48.31% of the project’s total targeted GHG mitigation volume. Looking ahead, further rollouts are slated for Sector A of the Si Rat Expressway in 2026.


The Project to Replace Metal Halide Lamps with LED Luminaires at the Kallapaphruek Depot, MRT Blue Line Project

In 2025, BEM planned to replace 175 metal halide lamps with Light Emitting Diode (LED) luminaires at the Kallapaphruek Depot. This initiative was projected to save approximately 436,316 THB in energy costs per year, reduce energy consumption by 111,876 kWh per year, and mitigate GHG emissions by 55.93 tCO2e per year. The equipment replacement and installation reached 100% completion in September 2025. Following completion, the project successfully reduced expenses by approximately 125,496 THB, lowered energy consumption by 32,178.33 kWh, and avoided GHG emissions by 16.09 tCO2e, achieving 28.77% of the project’s total targeted GHG mitigation volume.


The Project to replace Metal Halide Lamps with LED Luminaires at the Khlong Bang Phai Depot, MRT Purple Line Project

In 2025, BEM planned to replace 270 metal halide lamps with Light-Emitting Diode (LED) luminaires at the Khlong Bang Phai Depot. This initiative was projected to save approximately 2.45 million THB in energy costs per year, reduce energy consumption by 624,000 kWh per year, and mitigate GHG emissions by 374 tCO2e per year. The equipment replacement and installation were 100% completed in September 2025. Following completion, the project successfully reduced expenses by approximately 858,351 THB, lowered energy consumption by 218,410 kWh, and avoided GHG emissions by 109.18 tCO2e, achieving 29.19% of the project’s total targeted GHG mitigation volume.


The Project for Automatically Controlling Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems in the Ticket Vending Machines Rooms, MRT Blue Line Project

BEM planned to install ventilation fans within the Ticket Vending Machine rooms at 15 elevated stations on the MRT Blue Line Project. This initiative aimed to optimize the ventilation system’s operating patterns according to service hours and enhance energy efficiency by alternating between air conditioning and ventilation fan systems instead of running the air conditioning continuously for 24 hours. The project was expected to save approximately 588,136 THB in energy costs per year, reduce energy consumption by 150,804 kWh per year, and mitigate GHG emissions by 75.39 tCO2e per year. The equipment replacement and installation were 100% completed in August 2025. Following completion, the project successfully reduced expenses by approximately 182,089 THB, lowered energy consumption by 46,689.58 kWh, and avoided GHG emissions by 23.34 tCO2e, achieving 30.96% of the total project’s targeted GHG mitigation volume.


The Project to install Air Curtains at Entrances and Exits (Phase 2), MRT Blue Line Project

BEM planned to install air curtains at entrances and exits across 21 points within seven MRT Blue Line stations, phase 2, serving as a continuous initiative from the previous year. This project was expected to save approximately 4.21 million THB in energy costs per year, reduce energy consumption by 1,022,365 kWh per year, and mitigate GHG emissions by 511 tCO2e per year. The equipment replacement and installation were 100% completed in September 2025. Following completion, the project successfully reduced expenses by approximately 945,008 THB, lowered energy consumption by 242,310 kWh, and avoided GHG emissions by 121.13 tCO2e, achieving 23.70% of the project’s total targeted GHG mitigation volume.
